20-years of UN Global Compact
I’ve never worked for a corporation in my entire life. Until 2018, I’ve spent 20+ years working in politics, media & communications, and the United Nations & global development.
Now I have the honor, pleasure, and challenge of serving at Philip Morris International (PMI). This wasn’t entirely foreign to me. During my time working with the UN Global Compact, I helped companies to implement the UN’s universal principles and further the planet’s global development goals.
After just 3-months as Director of Partnerships & Cooperation at PMI, I felt compelled to bring a bold perspective to a Business Roundtable at the 2018 Bravo Symposium co-sponsored by the Council of the Americas and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Miami, Florida [https://www.as-coa.org/events/2018-council-americas-symposium-and-bravo-business-awards#agenda].
PMI was invited to join the Roundtable titled “Change Agents at the Forefront of Innovation.” I gave my best effort toward framing the last 20 years of public-private partnership between global leaders and global decision-makers. Many corporate leaders from companies across Latin America approached me after the Roundtable to express their appreciation and enthusiasm.
